Housing Density

Density is a measure of the congestion of a community, usually expressed in terms of dwelling units per acre. Multi-family projects typically have a significantly higher density than detached home communities. High density reduces privacy and creates increased traffic and congestion in the community.

Four units per acre or less is considered to be low density, while 4-8 is moderate. More than 8-10 units per acre would constitute high density.
